Dental Braces Treatment is must
for Every Child Who has Misaligned Teeth

Dental braces are a method orthodontists use to straighten and move your teeth in order to improve how they work or look. In addition, braces allow you to ensure your oral health in the long term. Moreover, they can make eating more comfortable. Many people get braces when they’re teenagers, but adults get them too. There are four types of braces.

Types of Braces for Dental Braces Treament

#1 Traditional Metal Braces

Traditional metal braces are the most effective and affordable orthodontic treatment option. They fix overcrowding, align the teeth, and reposition the jaw. An orthodontist easily moves the teeth in small increments during routine check-ups. For children and teens, traditional braces are the most popular option. Options for adults are also available if they do not mind visible metal brackets.

#2 Clear Braces

Clear braces are a subtle alternative to traditional braces and provide a solution to similar orthodontic problems. The primary difference in the clear version of braces is that they are less noticeable. When you have metal braces, anyone who sees you smiling or talking notices the braces. If you want the less obvious version of braces, the clear ones become an attractive choice.

#3 Lingual Braces

Lingual braces are a lesser-known, alternative option to traditional metal braces. This “invisible” orthodontic treatment is similar to conventional braces. Although, the main difference is that the brackets and wires are placed on the backs of teeth. Lingual braces use the same hardware and methods as traditional “outside” braces.

#4 Clear Aligners

Clear aligners, such as Invisalign, are another popular “invisible” orthodontic treatment option. They are minimally invasive and removable. They usually cost the same as traditional metal braces. Patients must wear each custom aligner for up to three weeks. Teeth move a fraction of a millimeter at a time and require less in-office visits. Aligners are a popular option for teens and adults.

Duration of Orthodontic Treatment.....

Treatment for teeth misalignment often involves wearing braces or aligners for a substantial period of time. The amount of time you wear braces or aligners will vary based on your treatment needs, but your behaviors can also impact the duration. Make sure you follow your orthodontist’s advice and maintain healthy habits while wearing braces. The average amount of time for braces is between 1 and 2.5 years. But you may need them for a shorter or longer amount of time depending on your circumstances.

Precautions During Orthodontic Treatment

You  must take care of your braces during the orthodontic treatment.

Follow these steps while brushing to have a sparkling smile along with protecting your braces:

  • Rinse your mouth with water to remove loose food debris.
  • Angle the toothbrush along the gums to remove the food that collects in this area.
  • Use the angled motion again while brushing away food from the top of the brackets.
  • Angle the toothbrush against the bottom of the brackets to brush upward.
  • Brush every tooth in your mouth on the front and back to remove bacteria.

Food products to be avoided:

  • Nuts – hard nuts such as almonds or walnuts can break the brace’s wires.
  • Sticky candies – sticky candies such as caramels or candy bars are off-limits.
  • Popcorn – the hard kernels can damage your braces.
  • Fibrous vegetables – raw or fibrous vegetables are a bad choice while wearing braces.
  • Corn chips – or other crunchy snacks.
  • Whole raw fruit – avoid fruits such as apples and pears.
  • Tough meat – tough meat such as steak or pork chops.
  • Peanut butter – along with other sticky nut butter.
